English Learners

Los Alamitos Unified School District recognizes and values the importance of nurturing one of the most important resources of our district: the languages and cultures of our diverse student population. We uphold a vision that every child, every day will receive the opportunity to learn through a quality education that leads him/her to achieve and succeed with integrity. To achieve this vision, our district will ensure high quality implementation of research-based programs for English Learners. The goal of the English Learner program is to accurately identify and provide supports for students during the time in which they are mastering English. Our district's English Learner (Title III) accountability outcomes are among the highest in the county and the state. We are committed to serving our students on the path to English proficiency and beyond!
