Measure G Information

Los Al Students at Graduation from High School

Los Alamitos Unified School District (Los Al) is a source of pride in each community it serves, with some of the best arts programs and athletic teams in the nation and countless California Distinguished Schools and Gold Ribbon Schools awards. That’s why 94% of residents with children tell us they live in our district because of the strong local schools. Los Al schools improve our quality of life and protect our strong property values.

Looking to the future, Los Al is closely examining school facility needs and essential improvements and upgrades to maintain our tradition of academic excellence. Our district has undertaken a comprehensive Facilities Master Planning process to identify and prioritize the most urgent needs in local classrooms, labs and school facilities. Los Alamitos High School is 50 years old and is the only site that has not yet been fully modernized. This remains our #1 priority along with other identified needs across the district.

In order to help fund these needs, the District placed Measure G, a $97-million local bond measure, on the November 2018 ballot. and it was approved by voters.  The Los Alamitos USD Board of Education passed resolution number 2017-2018-36 on June 19, 2018.
